We expanded and moved to the above premises in 2007 to continue  engine  re-conditioning and 
re-building, which work we have done since 1981 at other premises.
We are fully experienced in all aspects of engine work from the smallest single cylinder unit
and small car engines, to the largest of van and commercial vehicle engines.
We will undertake to remove the engine, dismantle and clean it, re-condition all parts needed,
rebuild and re-install it taking care to ensure that it will give the best performance and reliability,
 or machine the parts that the customer brings in, eg. bore the cylinders, grind the
crankshaft journals or just surface the cylinder head.

If all that is needed is to replace cam belts, or just service the vehicle, we will undertake
these jobs with care, still taking pride in our work.

We specialise in cylinder head work, and have many prepared heads for exchange or outright purchase, which are listed in our shop on Ebay , where we also have listed some good condition used engines.

Our customers travel from Yorkshire, Cheshire and Cumbria, and we have numerous friends/customers in the local areas of Wigan, Hindley, Golborne and Standish.

Here at Wigan Engine Services Ltd, we can offer full vehicle servicing and repairs using
state of the art diagnostic equipment.
We specialise in light commercial diesel engines up to 3500 kilos and can re-manufacture quality engines for most cars, light commercial and heavy commercial vehicles.
We now also cover all aspects of engine repair including reconditioning of  cylinder heads,
 re-boring cylinders, crankshaft  grinding and in certain cases, supply quality used engines.
All cylinder heads are pressure tested and crack detected to ensure the casting is suitable
for re-manufacture. Valve guides and valves are re-faced or replaced if necessary.
Valve and valve seats are vacuum tested after grinding in to ensure their sealing is satisfactory.
 

Crank grinding, cylinder boring, fit new cylinder sleeves, straighten and resize connecting
rods, surface cylinder heads, cut valve and head seats, replace or reclaim valve guides.

We also supply parts:-

gaskets, pistons, shells and bearings, timing chains and belts, oil pumps and filters,
valves and guides etc, spark plugs, injectors and heater plugs.

We will also supply and fit Helicoils to reclaim stripped
internal threads,
